What is Guided Meditation?
When starting out, having an expert lead you through the steps of a meditation practice can be hugely beneficial. Whatever skill we are learning in life, having an experienced teacher we can trust and relate to is important. But when it comes to exploring the intricacies and subtleties of the mind, it is not just important but essential.
The purpose of guided meditation is to allow yourself to achieve mental, emotional and physical clarity, healing and stress relief, by having a narrator walk you through the positively hanging neural pathways of your mind. Guided meditation can be used as a tool to heal the body and mind as it harnesses the positive effects of meditation and the power of visualisation. One of the main benefits of guided meditation is simply that it is guided! It doesn’t matter if the mind wanders as you will gently be guided back to the practice, allowing you to access the peaceful, meditative state of mind that meditation offers.
General meditation and mindfulness research shows meditation can change the actual structure of the brain. People who practice meditation also report lower levels of stress and anxiety, depression and chronic pain. Consistent meditators who have trouble sleeping may sleep better and demonstrate improved immune function.
For many people, meditation has become a tool for managing stress. For some, it helps to promote improved health, including a better quality of sleep. For others, it helps them get an underlying sense of peace, and that feeling of contentment, no matter what they’re dealing with in life. When we’re in a healthier place mentally, then we’re bound to interact with others in a more positive way, meaning meditation can benefit our relationships, too.
When we meditate, we’re cultivating an awareness of the present moment. We’re training the mind to better understand how and why we think and feel the way we do, with the aim of fundamentally transforming our experience, and perspective, of everyday life.
Reiki and meditation serve as ideal complements to each other, working together to produce an overall sense of well-being and peace. Depending on what you want to get out of the session and reason for your visit, the mediation will be tailored to suit your individual needs.

How many sessions should I receive?
Depending on why you make time for a Reiki treatment you may need one session or a series of sessions. Four sessions is a traditional recommendation and gives you time to evaluate what benefits you are receiving. Allowing at least a week in between each of your Reiki treatments creates space for you to consciously and subconsciously process the treatment. Reiki continues to work through you after the treatment session. The beneficial effects of the treatment continue to integrate into your being days after your session.
Receiving regular Reiki treatments is an excellent form of self-care and helps you to maintain holistic balance.
